Elicom electronic Ltd. was founded in 1993 by a group of young engineers specialized in design and manufacturing of digital electronic devices for weighting and control.
During the period 1993-1998 the company developed products in the field of telecommunications, as its major client was the “Bulgarian Telecommunication Company” (BTC). Other products such as cash registers with fiscal memory for gas stations were also developed.
In 1999 was developed the first taximeter with fiscal memory and thermal printer, which was awarded with a golden medal from the “55th International Fair Plovdiv”. Thanks to which the company won recognition as a leading taximeter manufacturer in Bulgaria. In 2003 the engineers made hardware and software modifications to the device and it was launched in Romania, Macedonia, Moldova and Cyprus with sales exceeding 15,000 units.
In 2000 were launched series of retail digital scales EVL with range from 3kg to 30kg which remain company’s best selling product. The retail scales were followed by platform scales with max. load of 5,000kg and also truck scales with max load of 80t. In order to fulfil its portfolio of digital scales the company introduced pallet scales, transpallet scales, crane scales and dosing scales for the industry.
In 2001 the whole process from designing to manufacturing was certified with ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management Systems, which confirmed with the quality of the products manufactured by Elicom electronic Ltd.
According to the European Directive 90/384/EEC in 2007 the products manufactured by the company received CE – "European metrological certificate" allowing Elicom electronic Ltd. to sell its products in all countries members of the European Union.
For the period 2007-2009 the company’s engineers launched label barcode printers TP120 and TP 220 for weighting labelling systems with scales EVL and EEP.
In 2009 after a series of testing was successfully introduced the electronic label printing scale ETS. It is design to work in “big box” retailers as well as processing plants and self-serving stores. The scale allows storing of more than 8,000 different articles (PLU) and works in LAN networks with other scales.
In November 2009 the company revealed its newest label printer TP330L, which will be introduces in POS and fiscal versioin in the first quater of 2010.
